Our journey as yoga teachers - discover our experiences and passions
Charlie and Alice both have decades of experience teaching yoga, enabling them to provide in-depth tuition and guidance to students, with a clear, professional and compassionate touch.
Both received the direct authorisation of the Ashtanga yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009) to pass on the Ashtanga yoga method. With fewer than 150 teachers worldwide hold this distinction.
More about Charlie
Charlie encountered Ashtanga yoga for the first time as an undergraduate and immediately became hooked on the practice. He has now practiced yoga and meditation daily for more than 25 years. In 1999 he made his first trip to India, began his studies with his teacher, the Ashtanga Yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009), and learning the Ashtanga Yoga pranayama system. In 2001 Charlie received the direct authorisation of his teacher to pass on the Ashtanga yoga method and has been teaching yoga full time ever since.
Charlie wants people to love yoga as much as he does and believes that anyone can reap the benefits of practicing yoga. He aims to make the vinyasa (coordinating moving and breathing) method of yoga he learned from Pattabhi Jois accessible to students of all levels, from complete beginner to experienced yogi.
He has an MA in Indian Spiritual Traditions and is registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals as a Senior Yoga Teacher, with the Independent Yoga Network as a Yoga Elder, and with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT500 level, the highest level of accreditation for all these organisations.
